These are some common examples of when your organisation can get money back from Australia!
In these instances, your organisation would have paid a tax called Goods and Services Tax (or commonly known as GST) to the Australian government. The GST rate is 10% on most items and services in Australia. As a foreign organisation to Australia, you DO NOT have to pay Australian GST. This applies to common “business” expenses such as accommodation, meals, taxis, car rentals, legal services, consulting fees, etc incurred in relation to Australia.
